Harold Davis is a photographer and author. His photographs have been widely published, exhibited and collected. Well known for his night photography and experimental ultra-long exposure techniques, Davis has a magical hand when it comes to creating vibrant, saturated colors in landscape compositions, and beautiful creative floral imagery.

"I think of myself as a post-film photographer. In my work I am especially interested in image processing and what happens to a photograph after it leaves the camera and heads to the computer. I see myself as much a digital painter as a photographer. I never want to give up being behind the camera, but I also get a real kick out of sitting hour after hour trying to get the processing of an image exactly right. Life is full of exciting visuals, and as an artist I am never bored."

He is author of more than 30 books, including The Photographer’s Guide to Yosemite and the High Sierra, 100 Views of the Golden Gate, The Photoshop Darkroom: Creative Digital Post-Processing, and a new digital photography series Creative Composition, Creative Close-Ups, plus our featured book Creative Night.
