Gisela is a charter Renegade–I first met her on the NYC 2007 shoot. Gisela (and her images) are sexy and sultry. She’s a tremendous talent who’s very interested in helping others advance their careers and build skills.
Renegade is privileged to team with Gisela and Joerg Lehmann to produce a special San Francisco boudoir workshop in mid-May.
Old Hollywood black and white movie star photography of the 1930s and 40s has a definite grace. Highly groomed leading ladies were posed to advantage and often shown in soft diffused looks, while photographs of the men were harder, using a more direct play of light and shadow. Incredibly talented photographers, such as Hurrell, illuminated and positioned each star to perfection.
March 28 session SOLD OUT! Second session being added April 3 for this Renegade Bay Area photography workshop with Rafael Hernandez.
If you shoot, distribute, license, sell or post digital photos to the Internet you need to know about metadata.
Metadata helps a photographer identify their image files, define the value of his or her work, track files and speed workflow. Perhaps more significantly, metadata directs buyers to your work and can help a photographer track authorized, and unauthorized, use. In short, if properly constructed and included metadata helps protect your rights, your professional livelihood and your rightful financial compensation.
Join us March 24 for a free panel presentation moderated by PCWorld senior editor Melissa Perenson, with panelists Rafael Solis, vice president of marketing, ImageSpan, travel photographer David Sanger and digital asset management specialist and photographer Brian Pobuda.
He’s been to Dar El Salaam, Tanzania; New York; St. Lucia; Las Vegas and the Amazon to photograph recent assignments. He’s donned black artsy-dressy-edgy threads one day, and jeans, t-shirt and cap for work at the office the next day. He travels in a wide variety of circles, from mixing it up with wedding industry stalwarts like Mike Colon, Bob Davis and Kenny Kim, to crouching over a biosand filter (a water purification method) in a remote region of the world.

“I began my career as a journalist and documentarian. As I’ve grown professionally and expanded my range of interests, I find that a foundation in photojournalism has served me well—it’s a skill that’s allowed me to be a better storyteller,” shares Mid-Atlantic photographer Jim Graham. Calling upon his roots, before any photo session Graham will recite these questions: “What’s the assignment? What’s important?” And he repeats to himself: “Look for moments. Be concise. Know when to stop and move on. What’s not shown in the image is just as important as what’s shown.”
