Richard Ettlinger is a photography and author based in East Rockaway, New York. The past six years of his life have been dedicated to a unique obsession:
capturing the essence and aesthetic of birds in flight. Publisher Abrams Books saw the potential for placing 175 shots produced by Ettlinger and team into a book being published spring 2008 titled On Feathered Wings. Additionally, the American Museum of Natural History in New York City will display 35 of the most compelling
photographs in a nine-month exhibit starting June 14, 2008. “Each photo reflects a shared passion and ability to capture nature’s acrobatic fliers doing their
thing -- which is just about everything--while in mid-air.”
